Installing default instance reporting services after default instance db engine

    Please let me know if it is possible to install a default instance of reporting services, after the default instance of the db engine has been installed.

    The reason why I am asking this is that, I was able to install the default instance(not along with but after db engine installrf), but there were on virtual directores etc created on IIS, ie this install did not do the default installation properly. However, on the same server I am able to install a new named instance(along with db engine) with default configuration. Please advice on how to go about with the defaul instance install.

    Please advice.

    I think that you installation of RS was ok only it wasn't configured. During installation you can choose if you want to configure RS with the default settings or you can do it later using the "Reporting Services Configuration Manager". Just start that tool and you can configure everything like virtual directory, database name and location etc.
