I get an error 'unexpected termination of installation'. It says to review the summary.txt, but it only shows the version of SQL that was trying to install

Pls post the setup log file information and the eventviewer information, then only we can analyze whats the exact error.

hello again ...
has anyone installed SQL Server Express on a w2k with SP4?
i can't seem to. i have searched and read about a few other people having similar problem. i have looked at Protected Storage ( it's there ) and Crypto ( it's not ) and read about possible cluster fail over issues ( no cluster ) ...
i initially tried to install the VB Express package including SQL ... the SQL install error showed up there. VB seemed to install ok. i tried to install SQL by itself and with the advanced services package. every attempt to install SQL has given the same result - SUMMARY.TXT without any info other than the machine ...
maybe the machine just isn't up to running SQL - but shouldn't the install at least say that?
thanks for any help ...
