Hi,
I encountered a problem when I am installing SQL 2000 server to Win 2000 server. The error message is as following:
"A previous program installation created pending file operations on the installation machine. You must restart the computer before running setup. "
I have restarted the PC but it's the same. And look through the control panel / add/remove program and cannot find any sql related program.
Please try to help. Thanks.

I read Q312995. What do I need to do in the registry? Please advice me. I don't think it mention explicitly. Thanks.

Did you check out the other two articles that are referenced in Q312995? They really don't list any registry hacks but instead point to two scenarios with the page file causing the problems.
Check those out and if they don't fit the scenario that you are seeing, post back and I will dig some more.
