Hi everyone,
I am installing SQL server 2005 on Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit from command prompt.
I would like to change the default location of ldf and mdf files during the installation and put them on separate drives. While I have the option of "INSTALLSQLDATADIRECTORY" that puts all data files at one location, I could not figure out the option of putting the ldf files on a separte drive. I tried to use something like "INSTALLSQLLOGDIRECTORY" but the installation puts the ldf files and the mdf files all at one location.
Is there an option to put the mdf and ldf files on separte drives while installing using a template file?
Many thanks indeed in advance for your clues.
Kind regards
Niyala

only in 2008 set up onwards can you specify a userdb data, log and a backup directory.
