We're experiencing poor perfromance loading an initial snapshot to Oracle. Does anyone know whether the BCP created data files are loaded into Oracle using SQL Loader scripts or some similar bulk loading process? Are the data files copied to Oracle and applied, or applied over the network? Any information on how all this works will be appreciated.
Thanks!

The data files would be copied to the ReplData folder which you would have specified when setting up the replication. Generally its a network path common to both servers. The bcp files would be copied there and applied at the subscriber.
On the other hand, perhaps you can restore a latest backup from your publisher onto your subscriber and set up replication in which case you wouldnt need to initialize the snapshot saving time and bandwidth.
