It seems that I have read a lot on how to create solutions and projects in SSMS to handle version control. However, on my version of SSMS, when I open solution manager then right click, then click add new project, nothing appears. Is there something that must be altered on versions of sql server to allow integration of VSS?

I am not aware of such connection because even in full version of VS2005/8 you may have to use Server Explorer to transfer your code to VSS. However through the manual process VSS can save everything including .bak files so you can save everything in VSS.
Kind regards,

Hi
You have SSMS2k5 and SSMS2k8 installed, didn't you? This is a problem in the combination of both. Microsoft has a hotfix for SSMS2k5. SSMS2k8 should work with latest service pack.
