Indexes: Will SORT_IN_TEMPDB=ON increases the time rebuild the indexes?

  HI,

  If SORT_IN_TEMPDB = ON

  Will this increase the time to REBUILD the indexes

  As compare with

  SORT_IN_TEMPDB = OFF

  If So, then when this option can be useful?

  Hi,

  As per MS documentation, Though it requires more disk space, but makes faster the rebuilding of the indexes while set to ON.

  Again it's a decision whether to turn it ON or Off.
