I found that one of the databases lost indexes how would i know the reason. I checked the trace file to check is any one deleted but i dodnt find anything usefull from the trace file.
is thre any other way to find.

- what kind of trace file are you refering to ?
(If sqlserver trace files, which events does your trace capure ?)
- you could implement a DDL-trigger to keep track or even prevent index removal.

The default trace should be available if that wasn't what you checked.
Otherwise, not sure you can find this. You can use a DDL trigger, like ALZDBA mentioned, to prevent this in the future.
