Please help!
I am upgrading a server from 7.0 to 2000. Its all gone well so far, but now i am stuck with an error when trying to import data from tables on the old server to the new server. The error i am getting is this:
Error at destination for Row Number 1. Errors encountered so far in this task: 1.
Line 1: Incorrect syntax near 'COLLATE'.
Any ideas of why this is and how to get around it.
Many Thanks in advance, M

How are you migrating the data to the new DB. DTS packages / DTS Export Option / Others?

Please refer the Collations, Overview section of BOL. It describes the Collation concept in detail. Check on the collation of ur 7.0 instance and 2000 instance.

Check the database compatibility level of the target database. If this is set to 70, then the database doesn't support the COLLATE command. If so, change the compatibility level to 80, and it should work
