In Recovery

  • We have a server used exclusively for QA testing. In the SSMS database Summary screen I've seen one or more databases with a status of 'In Recovery'. To my knowledge no one was restoring the database - I'm the admin & dba on the server. The database has a Recovery Model = 'Simple'. What could be causing this? The server is W2k3 Sp2 with SQL2k5E SP2.

    Thanks,

    Big Sam

  • This could mean that Sql server is recovering itself from an error or other issue. In this case it would be recovering from a checkpoint. Check the log files (Sql and Windows) to see if there is some event causing the databases(s) to be recovered.
