Has anyone worked with a BBF file. Our competition has provided us with a BBF file and I am trying to figure out how to extract the data. The underlying database is Foxpro.
Is this some kind of backup utility of import/export file format?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

I have never worked with a BBF file before but I have imported some Foxpro data. If it is truly a Foxpro database you should be able to create an ODBC connection to it.
Good luck,

Foxpro database does not have a BBF extenstion instead it has DBF extension. if you have a DBF file then it can be imported using the import and export wizard of SQL.

I've worked with FoxPro for over 15 years and never heard of a BBF extension. Also, the current Visual FoxPro 9 help file makes no mention of "BBF". Try renaming it to DBF and see if it can be recognized as a DBF file. If not, looks like your competition is sending you off to chase your tail.

I thought so myself. What I got though is one BBF file which i didnt think would be good for my purposes.
I think this is definitely a backup or a basic binary file format which is of no use to us.
Thanks for all your help.
