I had a few excel spreadsheets to bring into SQL. I used the DTS in database, tasks, import.
I saved the file as txt file and found the date that appeared in excel 10/10/10 came in as 10/10/10 instead of the 10/10/2010.
The data had part column of 00128 and part appeard in table as 128.
I used csv and managed to get dates but parts where incorrect.
Any ideas how to take a spreadsheet and get this in with dates and numeric 000128 as varchar.
Which format to have excel spreadsheet save as so everything comes in correctly.

There is no need to save your spreadsheet as a text file. From the Import Data task, you should be able to select a datasource called "Microsoft Excel" and import directly from the spreadsheet.
