Hi everyone,
I'm looking for advice on the potential impact of progressively adding articles to a transactional replication in SQL Server.
**Context:**
- SQL Server version: [sql server 2019]
- Type of replication: transactional
- Current number of publications: [50 publication with 1400 article]
- We currently have over 700 articles to add to a publication, and these tables do not undergo many modifications.
**Problem:**
We plan to progressively add more and more articles to the transactional replication. I'm concerned about the impact this might have on the performance of the server and the replication over time.
**Questions:**
1. Can the progressive addition of a large number of articles (tables) to a transactional replication affect the performance of the SQL Server and the replication, even if these tables are rarely modified?
2. Are there recommended thresholds or limits for the number of articles in a transactional replication publication?
3. What are the best ways to monitor and manage replication performance as the number of articles increases?
Thanks in advance for your advice and help!
