  Hi,

  I am using sql server 2005. I would like to see if we can get SQL Server to read the spreadsheet without additional programs and without .NET involved.

  Please tell me is it possible?

  You can Import the excel sheet as a table to a database using import and Export Wizard.

  Also you can add the excel sheet as an linked server.

  for this right click on linked server and select new linked server

  Note that if you want to create use excel sheet as linked server

  mention the Provider as Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB Provider .
