I first started using SQL Litespeed a few years ago when it was owner by an Australain company called DBAssociates. I found their version of the software great and I didn't care that it didn't have an interface, because it worked well and it was easy enough to create backup scripts.
We have just bought Imceda's version of SQLLitespeed at my new place of work and I have to say, it's not as good as it used to be. Yes, it has a GUI now, but I think it is cumbersome to say the least. We couldn't convert our existing maintenance plans over to SQL Litespeed and the response from Imceda Support was to create all new maintenance plans and then convert them. How helpful, NOT! Also, the documentation with the product in my opinion is quite appalling.
Support costs and Licensing is much more expensive than it was under DBAssociates and now all our support questions have to go to the US. (I'm in Australia) Overall, I'm disapointed with the Imceda version of the product. I would've thought that the extra $$$ we spent on it would've meant we had extra functionality, but it's not the case.
However, we will continue using the product as we have no choice with the size of our databases.

version 3.0.123 until the released the new 3.1.x line had major issues. We are still running 3.122 because it is pretty damn stable. I'm running the newest version on serveral servers that have to backup more than 100gb per server and it is running just fine. I'm not sure I like the new licensing scheme ether, they hit me with a huge price hike and then acted like it was no big deal. I miss Kevin Batt that is for sure. I didn't mind dealing with the aussies for support (I'm in the US) ether. I think the product is back on the right track but it took a heavy hit there for a few months. As far as Log Explorer goes I built a routine that extracts tlog backups so you can use them with the command line tool and have been using that since SLS version 2.6. I may put the finishing touches on it and put it up here in the script section.
