I have an image control within the header of my report that is giving me varying results between Visual Studio and the reports server.
My image is a png image that has a transparent background.
When I reference the image as an external source or embeded it displays correctly in Visual Studio but not on the reports server. When rendered on the reports server the image does not take on the background color of the report header but instead a grey color as if you were viewing the image in the Microsoft Office Picture Manager. If I then export that report to pdf, tiff, Excel the background shows through. Web archive generates the grey background. If I print from the browser the background is transparent.
Has anyone seen this before and know if this is a bug, as designed, or perhaps a property of the image control or report that I could have set wrong?

I think I found the answer to my question in a MSDN post. It looks to be a bug with IE.
