I want to install ssrs in sql server 2005.
I have confirmed that 'Default Web Site' is working properly. This is in started mode but when I try to install sql server 2005 then I get a message that 'Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) is either not installed or is disabled.'
I used following link to make sure that IIS is working:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms181052(VS.80).aspx
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754752(WS.10).aspx
I restarted my system as well. Need help. This is urgent 🙁

This usually means you are running one of the Vista editions that runs IIS7 without Windows authentication if yes post again I can hand you a development only hack.
You need Vista Ultimate or Business to run SSRS 2005 because all other IIS7 does not come with Windows authentication.

Check the last comment in the link below for how to use SQL Server 2005 relational engine with SQL Server 2008 SSRS.
