I have a third-party application that requires IIS. The application will only be accessed internally by employees. What are the risks of combining IIS and SQL Server on the same server?
I think the biggest risk is in terms of performance. Both SQL Server and IIS like to grab as much memory as they can. If you are short on resources then they may spend most of their time fighting each other for what's there.
