I want to be able to add Maxdop to sp_fulltext_catalog

    any one have any idea? maybe I need to use the SP and create a new base off it and add the option clause to it?

    currently when I update my catalog I am hitting 80%cpu, running 4X4 quad cores, hopping to back it off to 1 or 2 so my other procs can handle the application calls from the app server.

    I am afraid I am going to start getting performance hits soon if I dont so something...I know the incremental will take longer and thats ok. generally my cpu's avg about 10% pretty low. untill I kick thick off the rebuild

    just found out that option will not work on the SP level only statement and server level, this also running on 2005 therefore its outside of the sql so probably not going to work anyhow....of anyone has any idea that would be great?
