Hello I am new to BI.
I am trying to learn ssas and I thought I start with a small project but I need your help for ideas.
The project I had in mind is the following
I work housing charity for the homeless. We have about 1600 clients (staying at our hostels)
for each client when they stay at our hostels we do risk assessment, needs assessment and outcome star at 4 -6 weeks period. for now I am mainly focusing on outcome star
the outcome star will include the following
StarID
StarDate
ClientID
ProjectID
ProjectWorkerID
MotivationAndTakingResponsibilityScale (this 1 - 10 scale)
SelfCareAndLivingSkillsScale (this 1 - 10 scale)
ManagingMoneyScale (this 1 - 10 scale)
SocialNetworksScale (this 1 - 10 scale)
DrugAndAlcoholMisuseScale (this 1 - 10 scale)
PhysicalHealthScale (this 1 - 10 scale)
EmotionalAndMentalHealthScale (this 1 - 10 scale)
MeaningfulUseOfTimeScale (this 1 - 10 scale)
ManagingTenancyAndAccommodationScale (this 1 - 10 scale)
OffendingScale (this 1 - 10 scale)
of course there's tables for clients, projects, project workers
the typical enquires and reports would of the following nature
For typically each three month what is the precantage of people move 1 point in scale, 2 point in scale , 3 points in scale etc for each area of the outcome star.
or how many stars a project worker has done per project and and how many clients have more 2 stars in percentage
how do approch this in terms of designing the fact and dims?
many thanks

My recommendation would be to provide some test data for folks to work on so they might be better able to provide you with a coded answer. Please see the first link in my signature line below for how to do that.
I also have a question on your requirements. Let's say a give scale entry had a 5 in it on the first of 3 months, a 10 for the second month, and it moved back to a 5 on the third month. Because of the 5 point jump in both directions, do you want it reported or, because there was no change between the first and 3rd month, do you want it NOT reported?
