Hello,
I am using SQL 2000 and we are migrating to a new network with several network segments. Between each segment is a firewall.
I have SQLSERVERAGENT using a domain account to logon with.
There are several DTS packages that are now failing since the migration. I know the likely culprit is permissions for the domain account that the serveragent is using.
In order to set the correct permissions I am looking for a list of permissions that the serveragent needs.
It needs to access network resources within the network in its domain as well as resources in a different domain.
I have read on the net that a list exists someplace but I cannot locate it.
If you are wondering why I just don't replicate the permissions from the original server I can but the new network personel will not make changes until I can provide documentation.
If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
Gary

If you use Enterprise Manager to assign the account, it will assign the correct local permissions.
The network permissions will be in Active Directory for the old account.

Thank you for the reply.
I checked with the new network people and Active Directory is not installed and according to them Active Directory will not be installed.
I ran a test where I created a DTS package in which I copied a file FROM the network resource and then also copied a file TO the network resource.
I also scheduled the DTS package to run as a job and set the time.
Everything worked so I beleive the sqlagent has the permissions it needs.
Am I wrong in my thinking?
Thanks
Gary
