I get an error message when trying to use SSMS to connect to Reporting Services

  • I have SQL 2005 installed on Window 2003 SP2.

also installed Reporting Services in this instance using the default config during the installation.

When I try to connect to Reporting Services with SSMS on the local machine using Windows Authentication logged in as Administrator I get the following error:

    Cannot connect to SERVER

    Additional Information:

Unable to connect to the remote server (System)

No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it (System)...

I can log into the database engine just fine.:)

    Thanks ,

    Shekhar

  • After installing SQL 2005, goto SQL Server Surface Area Configuration and change the configuration settings.

  • Can you please tell me as what settings I have to change in the Surface Area Configuration manager..??.. 🙁

    Thanks ,

    Shekhar
