I don't see the replicated objects and transaction on the Subscriber

  • Hi All

Just created replication from sql server 2005 (Discributor and Publisher) on the same server and my subscriber is sql2000 database.

Everything was created successfully but on the sql 200 DB I only see MSreplication_subscription,Mssubscription_agent and Mssubscription_properties.

all the bcp file are in a shared folder.

I've been checking I cann't see what could be the problem

  • what type of replication? snapshot, transactional or merge?

Have you created publication? then create subscription?

  • I'm using Transactional Replication. I have created Discributor, Publisher and Subscribur. I don't see the replicated tables and data.

  • Take a look here: http://www.informit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=599700

I doubt whether all steps have been implemented on your end.

  • Hi Vivian

Thanks for the link. I was following the step on that link before. Strange thing is, If I'm using the one server as Discributor, Publisher and Subscriber replication works fine. The problem occurs when a subscriber is a different server in my case sql 2000 (tested for pull and push but both don't work). Initially when I applied a Pull I thought maybe its permission problem but I realised that way not the case.

I'm totaly lost as in what to do from here.

  • Have you created publication/subscription? Then need to run snapshot agent and distribution agent first, after that log reader agent will take care of the rest.

If you have problem on those servers while you are working on, you can always set it up on your own computer using multiple instances and try it out.

I am not sure how you set this up. I have no problem to follow those steps.

If you have got any error message, it will help to figure out what is wrong.
