I can't Install SQL Server 2005 Express

    I am installing SQL Server 2005 express in a Windows XP SP2 machine (Pentium D, 1024 Mb ram). Everything works fine, however during the installation of the Database engine the machine restarts, the installation don't finish, the SQL Server service is installed, but it cannot be starter. I must enter in safe mode to quit SQL 2005, because the machine restarts continuously.

    I install MSDE, however the database are in SQL 2005 format, so SQL 2000 can't recognize it.

    Any advice?

    I think you are installing SQL Server 2005 Express without service because the Express editions comes with service pack bundled so you need to download and install SQL Server Express SP3 in the link below.

    I find a rapid solution....I installed the original SQL Server 2005 express without any service pack and it works.

    Initially i downloaded the SQL Server Express with sp3, but it reset the machine....

    Hi Juan Carlos Arteaga,

    I have also faced the same problem when installing the SQL Server 2005 Express. It will keep restarting when I reached the setup progress. So, do you mind to share with me your solution? Thanks.
