I can't connect sql server 2000

  • There is a SQL Server 2000 SP4 in our company. Its OS is Windows 2003 server r2.When users use it in busy time,it can't be connect.it prompt:

[ODBC SQL Server Driver]Timeout expired. how to solve it?help me!

  • Is it truly available during those busy times? I'd suggest trying to figure out exactly what is causing your performance issues as it seems that the server may be too busy to handle the load during those times. Alternatively, are you using the MSDE or a different edition of SQL server. If using MSDE there are concurrent connection limitations as per http://www.microsoft.com/australia/servers/sql/prodinfo/previousversions/msde/msdeuse.mspx.

  • check the server settings for max. concurrent connections.

Also if you have 8+ gb of RAM,then enable AWE .
