Hi everyone,
I have a server running **Windows Server 2022**, named **"DATA SERVER"**. This server has two drives: **C and D**.
What I Did:
1. **Enabled Hyper-V** and created a virtual machine (VM) called **"DATA VM"**.
2. Used **Disk2VHD.exe** to create **VHDX files** of the host machine's **C and D drives** and attached them to the VM.
3. After creating the VM, it initially showed the **same device name** as the host machine.
4. To differentiate, I renamed the VM to **"DP-VM"** via **Computer → Properties**.
5. Now, both the **host and VM** are running simultaneously.
The Problem:
- I installed **Google Drive** on **both the host and the VM**.
- On the **host**, I set up **"FOLDER DATA SERVER"** to sync.
- On the **VM**, I set up **"FOLDER DATA VM"** to sync.
- Ideally, these folders should appear under **separate computers** in Google Drive.
- However, Google Drive **groups both under the same computer name**, causing files from both machines to sync under a **single computer entry**.
Question:
Why is Google Drive treating these two separate machines as one, and how can I make them appear as distinct devices?
