We are putting in a SQL server that is a 4 way machine with Windows 2003, but will be configured as an 8 way. Is there anyone out there who can give some pro's and con's regarding hyper-threading? Thanks.
I'm not sure how helpful this is but I have 3 SQL Servers that have been running with hyperthreading for several months now (using WIN 2K Professional) and I haven't had any problems. I can't think of any advantages that I've noticed. The marketing literature says its good.
