I looked at the job posting on this web site and it was terrible. How is the job market in your area?
I feel there will be more job cut coming? What do you think? I work in the public sector and with government spending cut, I am afraid of my job.
How is the private sector doing?

Disparately short of good people, and not-so-good people for that matter. There's a massive shortage of skills in many ares of IT and it's just getting worse.

I think there are still jobs out there, and surprisingly I've been contacted by a lot of recruiters lately with jobs in the Denver area.
Keep your resume up to date, that's all you can control. No other company is more likely to keep you than your current job.

Thats true. But i have started looking at job slashing here in Australia because of this financial crises and job market is not that bullish now. Number of job advertisements have fallen drastically.

While I know the economic issues are having some effect on the job market, I believe it's also related to end-of-year activities and new budget items and the like. I was looking for a job around this time last year. October had a bunch of job postings, November started good but dropped off dramitically around the middle of the month. December was dead (I attribute it to everyone using their remaining vacation/holiday time) but January rebounded and I found a job around the end of that month. I'm seeing a very similar pattern this year. And I second Steve's comment: "No other company is more likely to keep you than your current job."
