Select your matrix in the body of the report. Right click and select Properties. The Matrix Properties dialog box pops up. Go to the Groups tab. Here you'll see your row and column items. Taking Columns for example, select a column item and then click the Edit button. Now, you'll see the Grouping and Sorting Properties dialog box pop up. At the bottom, check "Group header should remain visible while scrolling" and there you go.
Happy reporting!

I have basically the same problem, but with the rows of the matrix. When I set the row groups to remain visible while scrolling, they seem to scroll right over the column values as you scroll to the right. How do you prevent this?

I would like to use the property of "Group header should remain visible while scrolling" for the first 2 of 5 row groups of my matrix!
Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work in SSRS2005 🙁
Any suggestions, please?
