Does anyone know the best procedure for upgrading from June CTP of SQL Server 2005 to release?
I guess I need to -- but I'm just guessing on the order:
- uninstall June 2005 CTP of SQL Server 2005 (Build Uninstall Wizard on original CD if I can find it?)
- uninstall June 2005 other stuff? (Preview of Upgrade Advisor at least)
- uninstall Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2
- Uninstall .NET framework 2.0 Preview or whatever it is called
Then start installing...
- Visual Studio 2005
- SQL Server 2005

You've basically got it. I had to remove every last trace of the CTP before I could get the install to work properly.

I would recommend contacting microsoft, as they have definitive upgrade paths laid out for each jump you can make. I know this can be a frustrating time on hold, but if you have a support agreement, then this is the time to leverage it. Especially if this is a production server. - A
