I've been tasked with uninstalling SSAS from our SQL Server 2012 instance and re-installing it with the Multidimensional mode rather than Tabular. I cannot find a way to uninstall just SSAS. Does anyone have any clues on this?
Thanks,
Gina

Hi,
I got interested in your question.
Did you check this http://cathydumas.com/2012/04/23/changing-an-analysis-services-instance-to-tabular-mode/
Please provide a feedback for this.

Thanks Igor. The link appears to be broken, but we ended up not uninstalling afterall. I believe I could have gone through the Control Panel > Add/Remove programs and chosen Uninstall then somewhere in the setup app, I would be able to select just the features I wanted to uninstall. It's not very well documented, though.

Ok. Try it now. It should be good now.
Thank you

I tried the method described in the link for changing from Tabular to Multidimensional, in SQL Server 2014. Worked great - thanks.

I too tried it to change a SQL Server 2017 instance on an Azure VM, that was built with a template, from Tabular to Multidimensional and it seems to still do the trick... fingers crossed I don't see a problem later, but I suspect that I wont...
