How to tell if a character exists

  • Not sure how I'd pose the question in such a manner to see how many DBAs could get the answer right without using QA... any ideas?

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

  • Now that I think of it, no. But any way you ask it there's always a way to run to QA and test so I would not even try to make it impossible to use QA.

I think that the most important thing is that you spark the interest and make the dbas aware of this gotcha.

Any way, you know how DBAs need to be right on almost anything so make sure that the question IsValid() .
