How to shrink the size of database device in Sybase?

    You might want to repost the question in here as the subjects get cut off sometimes when people get to the post.

    Not sure about the question. Doesn't sybase have a DBCC command to do this? If it still works like older SQL Server versions (4, 6), then you can't shrink any device or segment below it's original size.

    Thank you for your input. Sybase is really headache in manipulation. But it is much more stable than MS SQL Server.

    Managing the space of database devices and segments in Sybase needs special caution. At this moment, we cannot find any information on how to shrink either database devices or segments. It means that if someone expand their size, there is no way reducing it back. It really hurts sometimes.
