Hello,
I need total based on a group. For example I have
Salesperson Date Daily Sales
—————————————————
Homer Simpson 93
07/01/2007
07/02/2007
Bart Simpson 13
07/01/2007
07/02/2007
Total 106
I need total to be 106, but when I use Sum(Fields!DailySales), it is giving me 212. I thought of using runningvalue function but it is giving me error. Can anybody please help me?

Looking at your syntax, I assume you are using SSRS. Is this correct?

Yes, i'm sorry, wrong post. Instead of posting it to reporting services forum, i posted here.

Ok, well first I see that the sample data you gave is not looking correct. You have 2 people, 4 dates, and 2 sales numbers. I assume it looks more like this in raw form:
Homer Simpson 07/01/2007 93
Homer Simpson 07/02/2007 93
Bart Simpson 07/01/2007 13
Bart Simpson 07/02/2007 13
Is this correct? Is this what your dataset looks like?

No, each sales rep name and sales are displayed on top and with date of sales in detail section.

Can you provide a sample of your data set, not the report. Also, what is your report currently grouped on?
