how to set sql services to manual and shut down the server

  • How to set all the sql server services to MANUAL

    and shutdown all sql services?

  • Administrative tools -> services. You can do both from there.

Why do you want to do this? Automatic doesn't means automatically restart, just automatically start when the server starts

  • Could be they are physically moving servers from one location to another and don't want SQL Server coming up when they do the initially testing of the servers on power up at the new location.
