How to run a DTS package in schedular job

    Hi All ,

    I Have a DTS package in sql server 2000. few days back we have upgraded the sql server 2000 to sql server 2005 express edition . In express edition we don't have Sql agent. Can any one please let me know how to run a dts package by using schedular job task

    You'll need to install the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components (SQLServer2005_BC.msi, SQLServer2005_BC_x64.msi or SQLServer2005_BC_ia64.msi). Then you can use DTSRun.exe to execute a SQL 2000 DTS package from the command line. You can use Windows Task Scheduler to run the packages unattended, as needed.

    Now, that will enable you to keep going with 12-year old technology...why are you not upgrading to SSIS?

    We have sql server 2005 express edition... we don't have sql agent .. so we have to run dts package...
