    why would you need to do this? the only way would be to RDP to the machine and restart the service

    sysinternals psexec can do it, so you could issue the net stop mssqlserver command against a remote server, but under what circmstances would you need to bounce the service?

    your not bouncing the service because you think it fixes something, are you?

    Also you can open services.msc through computer management, administrative tools etc. and choose Action --> Connect to another computer
