Hi,
REPLACE function will replace all occurrence of any expression.
is there any thing which can replace only first occurrence ,
and is there any thing which can only search matchwholeword.

I guess you can achieve this through IF..ELSE and WHERE clause.

CHARINDEX and SUBSTRING should be able to do this for you.
