How to patch several instances (not all) in a cluster without reboots?

    Windows Server 2008 R2

    SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1.

    I have a three node 20 instance cluster, with 10 instances on two nodes, and one as passive. I want to patch only twelve instances to SP2 and leave the others at SP1 for another time. I notice that the command line patch installer only allows ALLINSTANCES or one instance. If I patch one instance at a time, I get forced to reboot. I only want to reboot at the end.

    Is this possible?

    I worked it out. Can be done with /SKIPRULES=RebootRequiredCheck
