I'm getting the below error when trying to update a job after restoring msdb from a backup on my prod server to my test server. This used to work fine on SQL7 but now SQL2k has to be difficult.
What's the best/easiest way to migrate all your DTS packages and jobs to another server?
p.s. What the heck is an MSX server?
Error 14274: Cannot add, update, or delete a job (or its steps or schedules) that originated from an MSX server. The job was not saved.

My favorite's a freeware package over on SQLDTS.com called "DTS Backup 2000".
The only reference I could find to the error you got was
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q281642&">
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q281642&
It pertained to server jobs, not to DTS, but I'll bet the problems are related.

Jay,
Did you try looking on sqldts.com? I think they have a script there just for migrating dts packages to another server...
Never heard of an MSX server...if it were me I would post a question on aspsqlservergurus@aspfriends.com - it might take a day or two to get answered but there are some well experienced developers who check in there often (in the event that you don't get an answer here)...

Steve, it would be nice if you could always anticipate all my system problems and post an article beforehand. One week, not bad! Nice work, thanks.
