Hi,
We notice that our report server and report server tempdb databse is growing. I would like to ask if there are any ways to lessen the size? From what I know this database is only used for running SSRS reports.

Kris

Database grow so there is no way to say if what you are seeing is normal or not. What do you see as the problem? Is it data files or log files? Did you check the recovery model of the databases, backups if it is log? Do you run any maintenance type tasks against the databases? Did you check if you have autogrowth on and what the growth increments are?
I guess I could keep going with questions but it might be better if you describe what you are seeing as the problem. Something like it was a 20 GB data file yesterday and today it is 700 GB. Someone may say that you can shrink the files or shrink the database and you really shouldn't. It's a bad practice.

The TempDB stores Session data, Cached reprots and execution data. ReportServer database contains report definitions, schedules and other similar data. These databases are designed to be used with Reporting Services but as a sysadmin. there's little to stop you creating tables etc 😉
