How to Keep SQL online with Connection loosing Packets

  • Is there a way in SQL 2000 to configure a kind of error check in transmission.

I have w sites connected via RF at 2 Mbits. They are 11 Miles apparts and this is the only mean I have right here. The problem is that this antenas are very high and they swing a lot. With this movement I keep loosing transmission packets. This Happens like I loose one packet every 30. Can SQL2000 handle this kind of lose without disconnecting or loosing the info? If Yes, Do I have to configure this and where?

  • The transmission is completely dependent on the TCP/IP and OS. Windows can handle this fairly well, but SQL is less tolerant, especially for some things like backups. Your connections may or may not work. You can up things like timeouts and do retrys, but not sure that will help you.
