Can someone please tell me how to get BIDS installed for developing SSIS packages to the existing SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise edition? and where to find it?
In the past I developed and used SSIS packages in Sql Server 2005 but not in Sql Server 2008. I need to start working on a new project that I would like to use SSIS packages to import raw data files into SQL Server 2008 Staging database/tables. please help me how to get BIDS or required tools started to be able to create and use SSIS packages.
Thanks!

Hello,
Put in your SQL 2008 disk, add to current installation and install Business Intelligence Studio, with integrated services etc. then service pack it all up to the level of your sql server.
cheers,
D.

ok, Thanks! I see the Integration Services installed along with the original installation itself. but not the BIDS i guess.
I managed to find the installation cds for Sql Server 2008 R2 Workgroup edition. but not for Enterprise edition 🙁
would it matter if i try to go ahead and use the Workgroup edition cds to add the BIDS tool onto the exiting Enterprise? or do I need use Enterprise cds only?

Dunno, I don't see why not, can't hurt to try. Let us know how you get on.
