Hi Sank,
Thanks for your response.
My exact problem is if my series label is too lengthy its not visible properly in the output because of legend table width. And I couldn't find the option for increasing the width for that.

Perhaps this might work for you:
Right click on the legend and select legend properties.
In the dialog that pops up, select "row" for layout and choose bottom for legend position. This way the legend can expand to the full width of the chart.

Hi
For legend we can't write long names we have to reduce word length.Other wise it's not possible to display the words.

It is definitely possible to display long legend text in SSRS 2008. (I can't speak for other versions though). Click and select the legend. Press 'F4' to display the Properties pane in BIDS. Change the TextWrapThreshold to some larger value. You may want to make sure the layout property is wide table or auto table as well depending on what your needs are. Doesn't hurt to experiment with the other properties as well. Bottom line is that you can make the legend as wide as the chart itself and the text can be displayed in full.

I think it is possible in 2008. Unfortunately in 2005 I couldn't find any such properties. I even tried changing the position to the bottom and made it as row type but of no use. 🙁

Here is one of the alternatives to add the legends in a seperate table outside the chart.

This must be a newbie issue. I have the same situation, except my legend is longer than my chart. I've attempted the suggestions above my expanding the textwrapthreshold and tested both Wide and Auto options. I'm only missing 1 character at this point. A closing parens. No problems when my legend contains only 2 items but 3..... to 8. I get all names except the last ')'. More ideas?

OK This newbie returns and quite embarresed to communicate that the issue I had was between the keyboard and the chair. The reason the suggestions did not appear to work is all me! Blast - Did I mention I am a newbee? Thank you for your time. - I won't be making that error again anytime soon. - So sorry if anyone spent time on this.

Sounds like a quite baisc question, don't know if you had fixed it or not. I am also new to the chart control, the chart legend is quite complicated to me.
