How to improve performance of the view with 12 joins

  • Paul White (11/11/2009)

    CREATE VIEW dbo.CrystalBalls

    WITH SCHEMABINDING

    AS SELECT Egg FROM

    (

    VALUES

    ('Egg'), ('Egg'), ('Egg'), ('Egg'),

    ('Egg'), ('Egg'), ('Egg'), ('Egg'),

    ('Egg'), ('Egg'), ('Egg'), ('Egg')

    ) Eggs (Egg);

    ...count them...there's a dozen fresh free-range ones 😛

    It depends ...

If the power goes down and the system's running off the UPS, presumably they'd be battery?

    (I'll get my coat)

    ORM - Obscene Relation Mangling?

Heh... you must know my first wife but nope... "Overthrown Raw Meat". 😀

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
