how to identify SQL Server Edition by looking at Setup files in SQL Server 2005 ?

  • hi.

i have a set of installation files of SQL Server 2005. but i wanna know exactly whther its Standard or Enterprise.

even the EULA says 'EULA FOR STANDARD AND ENTERPRISE EDITIONS'

there is no other indication in the setup as well.

without installing, is there any way to check this ?

    thanx

  • A company I worked for in the past was a certified SQL Server resellar. Unfortunately I never found the proper/correct way to answer this exact question. My work around was to launch the setup file or the default.htm file which would then tell you what you were in stalling.

    George: You're kidding.
    Elroy: Nope.
George: Then lie to me and say you're kidding.

  • Go to SQL Installation file folder and find ~\Setup\Images\splash.bmp file

u can find the version in the splash image file.. I guess this is one way of finding the version before installing.

  • Thanks.

But my question is how to find SQLServer media is either 32 bit or 64 bit before installation?

    Regards,

    Ravi.
