I recently learned that the Check Database maintenance task has been failing since the server per se was updated to 9.0.3068.
The only clue I have found is that SSMS in Help|About still says 9.0.3042 and that apparently version 3042 had maintenance task issues.
How can I get SSMS upgraded to a newer version so this maintenance task will run properly??
Thank you, Tom

Where do you see 3042? from your own client pc or your server?

What is the error message you are getting when the check db is failing?
Also to check the version of your server you can run the query
select @@version

SSMS version comes from Help|About, ON the server.
Server version is displayed as 9.00.3068 in Object Explorer, and from the select @@version query.
The maintenance plan was not created by me, it doesn't have any reporting in it, which I later learned has to be set when initially running the Maintenance Plan Wizard, I have not found any way to turn on reporting for a maintenance plan or task after the plan is already set up.
If there is a way I can find out how the check db task is failing, I will try it.
Thank you, Tom
