Are you looking for Express Edition, or something else?

For Any sql server edition, which is installed and running. Now I would like to know the downloded source of this sql sevrer is Tech net or Volume licensed?
Can we use any edition of sql server, downloded from Technet, in development/QA/production(with Technet licensing)?
Is that allowed? where can I found this info?

Technet downloads, unless I'm mistaken, are intended solely for evaluation purposes.
Express is free and can be downloaded and used for whatever you like.
Otherwise, you pretty much need to match up dev/QA/production instances with installation media and license data.
