How to do logMiner in SQL Server

  • Hi all,

I was asked a question when I attended an interview a few days ago.

Two departments (A and B) in a comapny use a same database to handle data (say, order entry, accounting , etc.) Department A input a lot of data to database using an application in these two days. The input involve in a few tables with relationship. In the same time, Department B did their operations to the same database. In the morning Today, department A claim that all input they did from yesterday to now should be erased from database and they need re-input. The department B's transactions should be kept in database. How do you implement this? (Solution and/or the Solution to prevent this situation).

I would know your guys' solutions on this.

    Thanks

  • What about Log Explorer for SQL Server from Lumigent? www.lumigent.com.

They are doing selective data recovery as well.

But I don't know how much it will cost.
