how to display multiple records in 1 column seperated by (,)?

  • Luke - I am relatively new to Microsoft technologies still feel kinda lost navigating their forums and sites but I will take a look to see if anyone has requested the feature...but I don't feel strongly about it. As far as your take on extending the capability of the Join function, I guess it works. I am not a purist or anything but I never thought of Join as being an aggregate function. Sum comes to mind however. I think of Sum along the line of the '+' operator and how it is being used in many OO languages to do more than just numerical addition. I can't think of a downside to making Sum a polymorphic function that can operate on more than one data type. I would love to entertain other perspectives though.

I wasn't sure at what point they would close out a suggestion. I didn't want to post another request if there was a prior one that was taken into consideration and closed.

  • They usually have a reason for closing it, either planned for inclusion into the next product, or closed as an intended thing. Forget how they phrase it.

Either way, this is the forum to let them know what we want, if you asked for something again and again (and get some community support to up-vote the item), then even if they closed it, they may reconsider.

    Squeaky wheel gets the grease...
